The Washington State Jewish Historical Society enjoys a special relationship with Manuscripts and University Archives at the University of Washington. The WSJHS creates oral histories and collects personal papers, organizational records, photographs and all material appropriate for a Jewish archival collection, which are then arranged and stored in Manuscripts and University Archives at the University of Washington.

The Genealogy Collection (https://www.spl.org/books-and-media/unique-collections/genealogy-collection) is part of the Humanities Department located on the ninth floor of the Central Library. There are more than 40,000 bound volumes as well as periodicals, pamphlets, and microfilm in the open room area. The collection consists of county histories; courthouse, cemetery, church, census, and military records; family histories; name books, both personal and geographic; and books on heraldry. Some material is available on most areas of the United States. The collection includes limited sources for areas outside of the US.
