About the Meeting
Join us for an interesting and practical webinar on how to use mtDNA and Y-DNA in our genealogy research. Gil Bardige will help us understand what the results can tell us about our deep ancestry and our DNA matches at a beginner and intermediate level, especially for people who have tested at Family Tree DNA. He will advise us about what tests to take and whether we should upgrade an older test. He will even show us how to incorporate our Family Finder (autosomal) matches in our analyses.
Gil will show us a case study using the step-by-step process that he uses in his analyses. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Gil Bardige, born and raised in Chicago, lives in the Columbus, Ohio, area. A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, Gil retired in 2019 after a long career in air conditioning and refrigeration, most recently as a National Business Development Leader for Trane.
Gil began his genealogy adventure in 1979 at the “instruction” of his mother, with just 54 people in his family tree. Today his tree, including mishpocha, has over 3200 people tracing four branches back to his 5th great-grandfathers born about 1740.
